Life at ONEOK

This information was released to the public today:

ONEOK Sells its Oil and Gas Production Companies

TULSA, Okla. – Sept. 19, 2005 – ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE: OKE) announced today that it signed an agreement with TXOK Acquisition, Inc. to purchase ONEOK’s oil and gas production companies for $645 million. The transaction is expected to close by October 14, 2005.

The sale includes natural gas and oil properties in four fields in Oklahoma and Texas with estimated reserves of approximately 240 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalent, as of August 1, 2005.

“With this transaction we will exit the oil and gas production business and will focus our attention on our other businesses, which include natural gas distribution, gas gathering and processing, pipelines and storage, energy services and natural gas liquids,” said David Kyle, ONEOK chairman, president and chief executive officer.

ONEOK plans to use the proceeds from the sale to reduce debt.

TXOK Acquisition is a privately held oil and natural gas acquisition, exploration, exploitation, and development and production company, headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

As part of the transaction, it is anticipated that substantially all of the ONEOK production employees will be offered positions with the buyer.

Still a lot to be done and quite a bit of uncertainty, but it appears Ken's days at ONEOK are numbered.

Emmy Update 9-15-05

Emmy, Annika and Aaron came up a couple of weeks ago and we were able to get some pictures and enjoy their company. And Annika does a periodic newsletter so they also send updated pictures of our grandbaby. Thought you might like to see some of the new ones.

The first two pictures show Emmy in training for rock climbing like her dad. She likes to hang from the closet bar so it can support her standing up. At 8.5 months, she is a healthy baby!

When they were up we had to have some fun trying on what he hoped would be her halloween costume. Unfortunately, it probably won't fit her by then, but we had fun taking pictures, anyway. She was a pretty good sport, but then it got a little warm and she wasn't having fun anymore. What a cute little dragon!

Update on Our Kids

Aaron, Annika and Emmy are living in Norman, Oklahoma where Aaron is in the last year of his Masters Program at the University of Oklahoma. Annika is working part-time at Norman High School and Aaron is continuing his job as a grad assistant for one of the department professors. It has been wonderful having them close, especially with the grandbaby. They spent this past summer in Utah, where Aaron worked at Dugway and they lived with Annika's family. This also gave them a great opportunity for some high country adventures.

Karen and Cameron are living in Murray, Utah in their lovely condo while they both attend The University of Utah (a school that I love except when they are playing against BYU). They are both scheduled to graduate next May and Cameron is applying for law school. Karen works for Nordic Track and Cameron works for the state of Utah and part-time for a SLC law firm.

Darin and Mike are in Rexburg, Idaho attending BYU-Idaho. Darin is scheduled to graduate in December and then Mike will finish up in April. He is considering PA or PT school after graduation. Mike's undergraduate degree will be in social work and he is working at a local facility for his internship as well as working at BYU-I with their intramural sports activities. They've moved out of their trailer and are now renting a very nice basement apartment.

Heber City, Utah

Last year we purchased a lot in Heber City, Utah. The primary purpose was investment, but it would be a beautiful place to retire sometime. Heber was a compromise in my desire for a small town and Susie's desire to be close to people and "stuff to do". Obviously, we both hope it will be close to family, if and when we ever live there. I have always wanted a view of Mount Timpanogas and the lot certainly fits the bill.

Emlyn Beth Lovell

The biggest news in our family this past year has been the addition of our first grandchild: Emlyn Beth Lovell.

It has been fun to watch her grow these past months, and fortunately Aaron, Annika and Emmy live in Norman, Oklahoma so we get to see them fairly often. She is such a joy.
